Homemade Lemon Tea

Lemon Tea

Great for colds or better yet the start to your morning every morning this homemade lemon tea recipe is the simplest you will ever come across but don’t let that stop you from taking advantage of this little gem.

In terms of it’s health benefits I’ve seen a massive improvement in my general health ever since making lemon tea a part of my diet.

It has aided my digestion, made my skin clear and enhanced my mood; just the sheer smell of it makes me feel good.

Lemon is well known as an antibacterial/antiviral properties as well as being high in vitamin C which not only boosts the immune system but lemon has also been known to alleviate stress and anxiety.

Oh, lemons are also high in antioxidants that help your body to fight free radicals ingested from a poor diets, air pollution and over consumption of alcohol.

These little beauties will never be absent from my own diet simply because they are nature’s gift for general well-being.

Homemade Lemon Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon
  • Raw honey

How to make lemon tea

Boil some filtered water and whilst it’s cooling squeeze a lemon discarding the pips and keeping the juicy bits.

Transfer the lemon juice and bits into a cup, add a teaspoon of honey and stir whilst adding the boiled water.

I usually add a dash of cinnamon for an extra kick.

If you’ve purchased unwaxed lemons then you can use the side of a cheese grater to collect some zest and add it to the tea for extra health benefits.

Breakfast Smoothie: Banana & Blueberry

Breakfast smoothie

It’s the middle of the afternoon and I’ve just finished making this breakfast smoothie consisting mainly of banana and blueberries.

I’ve demolished half of it in no time at all my energy levels have returned to normal.

If you’re not counting calories but still want to ‘eat clean’ then this one’s for you.

Like my previous recipe, there is no baking/cooking involved which is why I love smoothies.

Breakfast Smoothie: Banana & Blueberries

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of porridge oats
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup frozen bananas (unfrozen are okay also)
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (standard milk is okay)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

How to make banana and blueberry breakfast smoothie

Blitz everything in a smoothie maker until all the ingredients are totally mashed up.

If the mixture is too thick add more milk to taste.

Consume with pride.
