They will say that you’re not good enough.
They will feel that you don’t have the right or say you don’t have the qualifications.
They will do everything to project their own shortcomings onto you when they see you making strides and staying on top of your game.
You have a duty to yourself to totally ignore these energy vampires and make sure you keep true to your life’s mission.
The thing is when you stop caring what the hell people think about you, your desires, what you want to achieve, how you live your life – just about everything, then you’ll lead a much happier life.
One HUGE MISTAKE I’ve made in the past was working for a boss who not only was the classic energy vampire but would try and assert his authority by making infantile remarks.
The thing is you can tolerate working for someone who you do not respect for only so long when you have the drive and ambition to be more than average.
And I can’t reiterate enough how important it is to protect your positive energy.
4 ways to protect and nurture your positive energy
Your inner happy generator needs feeding.
It cannot be left to work on it’s own otherwise it will conk out and stop leaving you feeling under the cosh.
It is especially important at the beginning of Autumn to set your positive life the right way now and all through to the Christmas holidays.
When it gets darker and colder you’re still riding high from Summer whilst everyone else is getting colds, complaining of being cold and dark and trying to pass their negativity onto you.
As you can imagine this is the time of year that the energy vampires are in full swing so here are 4 ways to protect yourself from the onslaught.
#1. Start and stick to an easy to follow exercise routine
Three times a week is best.
You also need to choose one that fits into YOUR lifestyle and schedule so that you’re not putting more pressure on yourself to commit to something.
These days gyms have become very low cost and have numerous classes.
They also come with apps into which you can add your weekly measurements and weight to track your progress.
They even have exercise routines for you to follow if you prefer to workout on the gym floor with equipment.
In any event exercising regularly will give you the strength to deal with energy vampires and keep your mind on track with your life’s mission.
#2. Get a decent night’s sleep, every night
A lot of my clients come to me with sleep related issues and I always refer them to some free apps that I use to nod off with ease.
Not getting enough sleep can lead to night time sugar cravings as well as hormonal imbalances and decreased productivity and performance.
#3 Up your home cooking game
I first started to learn how to cook healthy meals that had easy to follow recipes with Simply Cook recipe boxes.
These are boxes that contain 4 recipes with all the spices and seasonings you need for each one.
You’ll only spend a maximum of 20 minutes on each recipe.
You also get shopping lists to make it easier for you to plan your week ahead.
If you sign up for your first box you’ll get one delivered right to your door for £1.
If you live in the United States here is a superb list of subscription services for boxes to be delivered right to your door.
Why is home cooking good for your positive energy?
Because you’ll create soothing lovely smells in the kitchen and you’ll be cooking food that is fresh and better for you.
Processed food whilst making you feel good for about five minutes will actually leave you feeling miserable after the initial high.
Freshly cooked food from wholesome ingredients will better fuel your body for exercise and help your body fight infection.
Once you’ve upped your home cooking skills, take a look at some of the recipes I use everyday to keep my health and fitness goals on track.
#4 Have a clear purpose to what you life is all about
I’ve deliberately placed finding your purpose last on this list because the three elements of exercise, a good night’s sleep and nutrition that came before need to be in place first.
They will help your mind and body to be ready to tackle life and give you energy and enthusiasm for your life’s purpose.
Take what I do.I want to reach as many people as possible to help them reach their health and fitness goals.
But I specifically target working parents who are in the throes of juggling hundreds of different things at once.
So although my purpose is health and fitness it’s more refined so that I can really focus on making content to target those types of people and tailor my services to meet their needs.
That is my purpose, that is my life’s mission.
So let’s start at the beginning.
If you don’t know what you life’s purpose is then this is the best way to find out what it is.
Simply go out and start do things based on how much you enjoy doing them.
Start a knitting and start sharing you’re love of knitting, patterns and cheap sources for wool and needles.
Post about it on Insta and let others into your journey.
You’ll soon find out if it really is you life’s purpose if it no longer makes you happy after 6 months of doing this.
But at least you would have tried and eliminated something that does not fit who you are and what you want to be.
Most others will simply will even not try.
But you will because you’re here reading this article and want a way to start giving yourself more meaning to your life.
But that is just the beginning.
Once you’ve found your purpose you must do this
The process of finding out your purpose can be a fun one and you’ve got plenty of time to get to finding out that purpose, more than you probably realise.
If you think that 6 months is a waste of time to find out what your purpose is then you’re looking at things the wrong way.
Because what if you end up spending the next 40 years doing something you hate just because your parents/society/family says you ought to do.
Trust me the time investment and sweat equity of finding out your purpose is extremely valuable to you besides which you’ve got more time to figure things out that you think.
But once you’ve found out that you really like knitting and sharing your knitting journey with the world via social then the next stage is to find a mentor who will help you get to the next level.
That means you need to find someone whom you admire and has achieved the next level of success you want to achieve.
When I first started in fitness my first mentor taught me:
- How to market my business
- How to teach a live fitness class
- What music to use for classes
- How to modify exercises to cater to different fitness levels
I reached out to a second mentor who allowed me to:
- Teach fitness classes (for free)
- Teach fitness classes (paid)
- Show me the best audio equipment to purchase and from where
I think you get the idea that without mentors I could have wasted thousands trying to figure everything out myself.
Instead I plucked up the courage to reach out to potential mentors who have helped me find my passion for helping other through fitness and nutrition.
It’s the shortest way to success I know of.
And as your success grows, your mentors will change and like me you will seek mentors who charge fees for their time and services.
When you get to that level you’ll need to choose carefully who you work with as internet scams are proliferating so make sure you get independent verification of those whom you entrust with your hard earned cash to help you build your empire.
Making better health choices is just the start of your journey towards greatness but it’s an essential piece of the puzzle.
I can even mentor you to be an online fitness and nutrition coach if that’s your purpose.
Once you’ve set your fitness and nutrition goals right you’ll have the energy and enthusiasm to pursue your life’s purpose and defend yourself against the energy vampires who will try to stop.
But you’ll not let them.
