Yes that’s right banana ice cream.
I was a bit sceptical that such an idea for a recipe would be either healthy or actually work.
After all ice cream demands to be eaten and traditionally it is packed full of sugar.
But in the interests of promoting healthy eating habits I thought I’d give this one a go.
Oh by the way there is only one ingredient, can you guess what it is?
Banana Ice Cream
- 2 peeled bananas
How To Make Banana Ice Cream
Slice the bananas into approximately 1 inch pieces and place into your freezer.
After 2 hours remove and place into a blender until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
If you’re blender is having trouble add a little milk of choice (I use unsweetened nut milk).
Scrape down the sides every so often during the blend.
Transfer the mix into a plastic container and freeze for about 4 hours or simply serve immediately.
Here’s a few ways that you can spruce up this delicious recipe:
- Strawberry and banana ice cream: simply add 200g of strawberries to the blender. For chunky strawberry ice cream make sure the banana mix is smooth then add the strawberries at the end for a rough blend
- Chocolate and banana ice cream: add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder
Additional ingredients you can add include raspberry, honey, nut butter, chocolate chips, green tea powder and fresh mint
