The quickest, simplest way of eating greens is to drink them.
Why are greens so important?
The improve digestive health, they are full of antioxidants such as vitamin C and according to the NHS they can help to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke and some types of cancer.
Green leafy veggies everyday is the optimal approach to greens but they can take time to prepare if your schedule is already busy.
Which is why I blitz mine in a smoothie maker, pour and I’m ready to go.
Here’s my favourite breakfast greens smoothie that makes me feel on fire before I’ve even left the house.
- Chunk of cucumber
- 1 pear
- Handful of spinach
- Handful of parsley
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- ½tsp grated ginger
How to make breakfast greens smoothie
Chop the cucumber into small chunks, core the pear and chop into quarters then throw all the ingredients into a blender/smoothie maker.
Blitz for up to 2 minutes or until everything is blended.
Tip: I add a scoop of protein powder and a little water to make sure the powder does not thicken the smoothie too much.
