Goal Setting For Success
There is a very specific way to set your goal to make sure that it actually motivates you and fives you the POWER to go out and achieve.
Most times, people set goals in a half-hearted way and do not get attached to the reasons why they want to achieve their goals.
The do not attach themselves to the specifics.
These are some of the reasons why people do not end up achieving their goals.
I want to make sure that you get to where you want to go to and that starts with making sure you set your goals very specifically.
You signed up to Fitter Stronger You for a REASON.
It’s for a goal you want to achieve such as:
- You want to lose weight
- You want to tone up
- You want to lose a dress/trouser size
These are called STATED GOALS.
But you need to drill it down even further, for example:
- How much weight do you want to lose?
- Where on you body would you like to tone up?
- How many dress/trouser sizes do you want to lose?
We are talking NUMBERS/SPECIFICS here:
- Is it one stone in weight or two?
- Is it arms and stomach that you’d like to tone up?
- Is it one dress/trouser size or two?
If you can get into the specifics then you can set your mind to follow through on your goals and measure progress as we reach the end goal.
This is how goals are achieved.
You mat want to lose two stone, you may want to look more toned in your arms, stomach or legs – these are tangible goals that help to set a very clear picture of what it is you want to achieve.
Here you need to dig really deep here as to WHY you want to achieve your goals.
‘The Why’ is even more important than the reasons.
What would the goal mean to you?
The more meaning you can attach to your goal the more likely you are to achieve it.
And we can remind you whilst your on your transformation journey.
So an example might be: I want to look more toned in my arms/lose a dress or trouser size because I want to…..
- Be a better parent
- Feel more confident
- Feel better in my summer clothes
You really need to find that specific reason.
Whatever the reason is for you (to make you feel happier/more confident etc) your motivation will multiply by massive amounts.
Once you’ve written down your specific goals are and what your reasons are for wanting to achieve them simply place them where you will see them everyday (fridge, workspace, bedside table).
Doing this will keep your goals front and centre during your transformation and help to keep you on track.
