I’ve started some fitness prep work in readiness for my weight loss muscle toning bootcamps to start back on Wednesday 2nd January.
It’s a couple of days after I did my first workout since taking a break over Christmas.
I’ll be honest it was a tough.
The workout itself was awesome and I did the smart thing of lowering expectations (weight/reps) and framing the whole session as a ‘warm up’ for more workouts later this week.
No the workout was fine and great kick start to 2019 even though we’re still in 2018.
The one tough thing I did not expect was how depleted I would feel afterwards and I ended up eating bagel and eggs for the carbs and washing it all down with a cup of full fat milk and adding a slice of cheese.
That helped a bit but my mind and body were still in a state of shock – I took an early night.
Today though having had a lie in (the joys of having very tired children from reading to puzzle making) I’m feeling totally pumped and ready to hit more workouts today either by tending to the allotment or straight up hitting my garage gym for reps.
It’s as if the workout forced my mind and body in for an early night for a long deep reset sleep and now I’m feeling totally EPIC.
THIS. IS. WHY. I. LIKE. FITNESS.
Here are some ways you can start moving in readiness for a committed exercise and nutrition program for 2019 with the whole family and feel totally epic:
- Go for long walks
- Tend to the garden
- De-clutter the house
- Go to a local attraction (Willen Lake, Campbell Park, Caldecotte)
- Hand wash the car
If you have (make) time for yourself to start moving the number one best way to get you off the sofa is to download a couch 2 5k app, press play and away you go.
