Salmon and broccoli.
Not really two ingredients that you’d think go together well.
Especially in a burger.
But this quick and easy delicious burger recipe will help you to feel full without the bloating and massive calorie count with traditional fast-food burgers.
- 350g tinned wild salmon, drained with the bones and skin removed
- 125g porridge oats (or breadcrumbs)
- 200g finely chopped broccoli florets
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon mixed herbs (optional)
How To Make Salmon and Broccoli Burgers
Place drained salmon in a large bowl and remove the skin and bones.
Add and thoroughly mix in the eggs, porridge oats, lemon juice, salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
Add and thoroughly mix in the chopped broccoli and onion – make sure they are chopped into tiny pieces because the burgers will fall apart if there are large chunks.
Make into five tightly packed burgers and refrigerate for a minimum of thirty minutes.
Heat a large frying pan sprayed with one cal oil over medium heat until hot.
Add burgers cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until browned.
Quick tip: if you want a little spice to your burgers add half a teaspoon of red chilli powder
