Spicy Roasted Chickpeas Image

Spicy roasted chickpeas are superb way of ensuring that you snack in a healthy way.

High in protein and dietary fibre add these tasty little beauties to your snacking and you’re sure to keep on track with your health and fitness goals.

Ingredients

  • 3 (400g) tins chickpeas, drained
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sprinkle of salt
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

How To Make Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

Combine drained chickpeas and all of the ingredients into a large bowl.

Make sure the chickpeas get a good coating of everything making sure not to mash or break the chickpeas.

Spread the chickpea mixture evenly over two different baking trays to ensure they are spread out sufficiently to cook well.

Bake in the centre of the oven on 220 C/gas 7, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.

Cook the chickpeas for approximately 45 minutes; you can tell when they’re done as they will look golden and look dry on the outside.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with a little more salt and allow to cool before serving.

Warning: spicy roasted chickpeas are very moreish.
